Sources have revealed that the NEET-PG exam for admission to postgraduate medical courses may be held within a month. According to sources, Home Ministry officials met officials of the government's anti-cybercrime agency on Tuesday afternoon.
NEET-PG will be monitored by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the question paper will be prepared two hours before the exam. A total of 2.38 lakh candidates will appear for this exam. Earlier this exam was to be held on June 23 but due to paper leak and other irregularities, the exam was postponed on the night of June 22. According to Prof. Meenu Bajpai, Vice President of National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), the government is monitoring through various agencies so that there is no flaw. Regarding the paper leak case, she said that the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Information Technology and Ministry of Health are monitoring the entire matter on a comprehensive level. The investigation is being completed. There will be no irregularities in the exam. The exam will be conducted in a transparent manner.
Out of 1,563 candidates, 813 took the exam again
According to NTA officials, out of 1,563 candidates, only 813 appeared for the NEET-UG re-examination. According to sources, the reason for only 48 percent of the candidates appearing for the re-examination may be that the rest of the candidates may have believed that the exam would be cancelled. It is possible that they did not appear for the re-examination due to fear of getting low marks in the re-examination or with the intention of appearing for the re-examination next year.
NEET-UG counseling will start from July 6
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the result of NEET-UG 2024 re-exam. With the new result, the number of toppers in NEET-UG 2024 has come down from 67 to 61. This year 13.16 lakh candidates have cleared this medical entrance exam. Counselling will begin from July 6 by the Medical Counselling Committee, the authority responsible for allotment of MBBS, BDS and B.Sc. Nursing seats.
