New Delhi, 16 November (HS). Neeraj Goyat defeated Whinderson Nunes in a super-middleweight bout on the undercard of the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson Netflix event at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Friday.
The first Indian boxer to break into the WBC rankings won his bout by a wide 60-54 unanimous decision in a six-round non-title fight. It was a one-sided contest for the Indian boxer, who maintained his dominance throughout the match.
The 33-year-old boxer from India has won four of his last five matches, with his last win coming in the form of a technical knockout (TKO) win over Phakorn Amyod in the second round last year.
His opponent, Nunes, recently made his professional debut losing to Nathan Bartling at the Misfits Boxing prime card. The Brazilian boxer has only appeared in exhibition matches. Their bout was the last of five undercard bouts before the big showdown between Tyson and Paul.
