Now Saudi Arabia has also supported India's demand for reform in the United Nations Security Council.
Saudi Arabia is angry after the United States vetoed a Security Council resolution imposing a ceasefire in Gaza with immediate effect. After this, Saudi on Wednesday supported India and said that to maintain peace and security in the world, the Security Council will have to give up its double attitude and now more than ever, there is a need for reform in the Security Council.
India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar indirectly mocked China in this regard and said that no western country is most opposed to the reform of the Security Council. When the United Nations was formed, it had 50 members. Today the number of its member countries has increased four times, so it is a matter of common sense that the Security Council also needs reform.
He further said that western countries are also responsible for the current situation. They have not yet helped the new member countries. Other countries need to come together and continue to fight for change.
It is noteworthy that currently five countries are permanent members of the Security Council. Apart from China, four other countries are ready to give India a place as a permanent member in the Security Council.
At the same time, a proposal was presented by Algeria in the Security Council meeting on 20 February. It demanded the distribution of aid as well as the release of all hostages and a ceasefire in Gaza. America used its veto power on the ceasefire proposal in Gaza and did not allow this proposal to be approved. Due to which Muslim countries are troubled and now Saudi Arabia also feels that there is a need for reform in the Security Council.
