Nearly 30 crore people suffer from severe food insecurity

Rome, UNO: A report released on Wednesday evening by UNO and the Rome-based Food and Agriculture Organization paints a heart-breaking picture of the world's food situation. Giving information about the global food situation in 2023, the report says that 282 million people in the world (about 2 billion 82 crore people) are suffering from severe food shortage. In which the situation of Gaza and Sudam is very sad. An unusual food crisis has also arisen in Afghanistan.

The report prepared by the Food Security Information Network at UNO and the Rome-based Food and Agriculture Organization reflects the dire situation. For which he says that the reason for this is geographical conditions like Uno interplanetary, seasonal changes and El-Nino. Governmental and voluntary organizations of the European Union and important countries have also contributed in preparing this report.

Fleurier Wouters, deputy director for emergencies at UNO's Rome-based Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), said 1.1 million people in Gaza were on the brink of starvation. Most of them are suffering from hunger.

UNO Secretary General Antonio Guterres presents an even sadder picture, saying that in this world full of poverty, more and more children are dying of hunger. He says that the situation in Gaza, Sudan and Afghanistan is becoming very sad. El Nino has also worsened the situation in West and South Africa. The situation has gone out of control there as well as in Sudan and Gaza. A total of 30 crore people in the world are facing food crisis.
