Varanasi, August 08 (HS). A humanitarian initiative of 11 NDRF teams on Thursday in Baba Vishwanath's city Kashi was being appreciated on social media. The team safely rescued two cows that had fallen into a 50-60 feet deep well in Soyepur New Colony near Azamgarh road. The villagers tried to rescue the mute cows, but due to the depth of the well and the possibility of poisonous gas, they were not successful.

As soon as the 11 NDRF control room received the information, taking cognizance of the incident, NDRF Deputy Inspector General Manoj Kumar Sharma took immediate action and sent the NDRF team to the spot for rescue work. The team started the rescue work under the supervision of Deputy Commandant Naveen Sharma and under the leadership of Inspector Sudhir Kumar Singh. The team, taking immediate action considering the possibility of poisonous gas in the well and the condition of the cattle, put on the SCBA set and lowered the rescuer inside the well through rope rescue. Risking his life, the NDRF rescuer reached the cattle and tied them keeping in mind the injuries on the cattle and the team took both of them out of the well safely through rope rescue. Thereafter, both were sent to the veterinary hospital for treatment through the Municipal Corporation.
