NCR: 'Is control on social media necessary?' competition held | News India

Prayagraj, 23 September (HS). On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, a Hindi speech competition was organized on Monday on the topic “Is control on social media necessary?” as part of the Rajbhasha fortnight being organized from September 13 at the headquarters of North Central Railway.

Employees working in various departments of the General Manager's Office took part in the competition. The participants expressed their views on the advantages, disadvantages and risks of social media and shed light on the extent to which it should be controlled.

On this occasion, the deciding Deputy Finance Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer Project Unit Dr. Swami Prakash Pandey said that any subject has both positive and negative aspects. There are immense possibilities of knowledge acquisition, research and empowerment through social media. There is a need for us to use social media appropriately and judiciously. Along with this, it is also important to ensure proper guidance and control of children and youth regarding their use.

The second judge, Deputy Chief Official Language Officer and Deputy Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer Project Priyanka Singh said that considering the increasing speed of time, context and technology, self-control is the biggest control on the use of social media. Social media has given us easy and smooth access to those areas for which traditional means are not sufficient. We can acquire personally and socially useful information on a real-time basis. Apart from legal methods, practical solutions are much more important and expected to prevent the negative effects of social media.

In the competition, Nishant Chauhan, Junior Accounting Assistant, Accounting Department got the first place, Kumari Kishori, Office Superintendent, Vigilance Department got the second place and Amod Kumar Tripathi, Sub Inspector, Railway Protection Force, Security Department got the third place. The competition was conducted by Senior Official Language Officer Nirman Yatharth Pandey and the vote of thanks was given by Senior Official Language Officer Chandra Bhushan Pandey.

CPRO Shashi Kant Tripathi said that in the note and format writing competition organized under Rajbhasha Pakhwada, Sumeet Kumar, Senior Section Officer, Accounts Department, got first place, Rajiv Kumar, Senior Section Officer, Accounts, Construction Organization, got second place and Ram Bihari, Junior Clerk, Circulation Department, got third place. Similarly, in Hindi typing competition, Rahul Verma, Senior Clerk, Personnel Department, got first place, Neeraj Pandey, Office Superintendent, Commerce Department, got second place and Indraraj Meena, Senior Clerk, Stores Department, got third place. All these winning participants will be awarded by the General Manager during the main function of Rajbhasha Pakhwada on September 30.
