Naxalites' ration material seized from the forest – News India Live

Dhamtari, 27 June (HS). A joint team of DRG Dhamtari and CRPF jawans took action and confiscated the food items of the Naxalites that were dumped in the dense forests. During the rains, the Naxalites had dumped the ration items collected from the villagers by threatening them to satisfy their hunger in the dense forests. Only a few Naxalites know about this. Meanwhile, DRG Dhamtari and CRPF jawans who were out on anti-Naxal operation, took action by confiscating the ration items of the Naxalites kept there as soon as they came to know about the dump in the forest.

Police said that the DRG team received information that the Naxalites had collected levy and ration by intimidating the villagers and dumped it by digging pits and tunnels. On receiving this information, DRG Dhamtari and CRPF 211th Battalion were sent on a special Naxal search operation on 26 June. In this operation which lasted for five days, ration and food items, electrical equipment and other items of daily use belonging to Naxalites were recovered from the forests of three different places namely Taprapani (Kondagaon-Dhamtari border), Ekawari (Thana Borai) and Munhkot (Thana Khallari). Naxalites had hidden these items by making big pits and tunnels and covering them with leaves. This item was dumped by Naxalites of Ravas Coordination Committee and was used by Naxalites during rainy season. DRG Dhamtari and CRPF jawans recovered one solar plate with wire, 120 kg rice, 11 kg pulses, six kg sugar, 28 packets of tea leaves, 15 packets of turmeric, 16 liters oil, four pairs of slippers, 14 pieces of undergarments, three pieces of towel, five boxes of Shilajit from three dump places of Naxalites. Police personnel are engaged in further investigation after this action.
