Last night, Naxalites detonated an IED in the forests of Mandimarka in the Tarem police station area of Bijapur, Chhattisgarh. 2 soldiers were martyred and 4 soldiers were injured in the blast. The injured soldiers are being treated at the district hospital. Apart from this, preparations are underway to refer them to Raipur by helicopter for better treatment. According to the information, the pipe bomb exploded while returning from the operation. STF head constable Bharat Lal Sahu and constable Sater Singh were martyred in this blast.

Bhima was a member of Platoon No. 9 of the banned Maoist organisation and had a reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head. Jyoti had a reward of Rs 1 lakh on her head. She was the president of the Revolutionary Women Adivasi Sanghatana (KAMS) under the Kondapalli RPC (Revolutionary Party Committee).
