The injured soldiers are being airlifted to Raipur. The Naxalites have carried out this IED blast in the Mandmiraka forests of Bijapur district. It is being told that while returning from the operation, the Naxalites targeted the security forces and detonated the IED.

12 Naxalites killed in the encounter

The operation of security forces against Naxalites is continuing in Chhattisgarh. Under this operation, a day earlier on Wednesday, security forces killed 12 Naxalites in an encounter in the border areas of Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. Two soldiers Satish Patil and Shankar Potavi were injured in this encounter.

The incident took place in Chhindwati area of ​​Jaravandi area of ​​Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra. This clash lasted for about six hours. Seven automatic weapons including AK47 were recovered from the spot. The injured soldiers have been admitted to Nagpur. They are out of danger.

Superintendent of Police of Gadchiroli said that an operation was launched on Wednesday morning at around 10 am on the information of the presence of Naxalites. In which the C-60 commando team was sent to Vandoli village near the Chhattisgarh border. When the soldiers reached there after crossing the river, the Naxalites started firing. 12 Naxalites were killed in the encounter that lasted for six hours.

Seven automatic weapons including three AK 47, two INSAS rifles, one SLR have been recovered from the spot. DVCM Laxman Atram alias Vishal Atram, in-charge of Tipagarh Dalam, has been identified among the killed Naxalites. Identification of other Naxalites and search of the area is underway.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced a cash reward of Rs 51 lakh to the C-60 commandos and Gadchiroli police for the successful operation. Earlier, four Naxalites were killed in Gadchiroli on March 19 and three on May 13.
