Islamabad, September 2 (HS). Former Prime Minister of the country and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has made a heartfelt appeal to all parties to make united efforts to bring Pakistan out of the crisis.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Saturday said that to overcome the crisis in Pakistan, an all-encompassing dialogue platform should be created which includes all major political parties including Imran Khan's Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. It should also involve state institutions in important initiatives.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also tried to bring on board their former ally, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. Top PML-N officials held a meeting at its Model Town headquarters on Saturday.
In this, topics like the recent relief provided regarding electricity, reforms being implemented by local authorities in Punjab and ruling reorganization were discussed. At the same time, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has laid down a condition regarding talks with Imran's party PTI. He said that for any kind of talks with PTI, former Prime Minister Imran Khan will have to apologize for the alleged violence of May 9 last year.
