How often should you break?
People who keep fast during Navratri feel hungry every time during the fast. They eat fruits whenever they want. Or consume food items prepared for fasting. Whereas some people eat fruits only once a day during Navratri fast. This is usually done in the afternoon or evening. Some people eat fruits twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening. Some people eat fruits slowly throughout the day.
Rules for fasting during fasting
Generally, rock salt is used during Navratri fast, ordinary salt is not used. -During Navratri fast, you can drink water several times a day. You can eat different types of fruits like apple, grapes, orange, banana etc. Some people also eat boiled or steamed vegetables during the fast, but this depends on personal preference.
Navratri fast is observed for 9 days
Navratri fast is kept for full 9 days. During Navratri, Rasopvas, fruit fast, Dudhopvas, short fast, Adhopvas and complete fast can be observed. During the fast, some people eat khichdi, some people eat food with sea salt, some also eat fruits and some consume only milk and water etc. People observe fast according to their capacity. Whatever type of fast you do, you should not eat too much or too frequently. Because by observing such a fast one does not get the full results of the fast.
