Varanasi, 13 April (HS). Navodaya Vidyalaya Foundation Day was celebrated on Saturday at KN Uduppa Hall, BHU. More than 500 alumni from various states like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Assam etc. participated in it. Pura students shared their memorable experiences. Various aspects of the progress of Navodaya Vidyalaya were also discussed in the function. Amidst BHU's Kul Geet, Navodaya Prayer and Welcome Song, the guests garlanded and lit the lamp on the portrait of Mahamana Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya and former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, founder of Navodaya Vidyalaya. As the chief guest in the program, Postmaster General of Varanasi Zone Krishna Kumar Yadav also honored 66 Navodayans with 'Navodaya Ratna' for their honorable achievements.
During this, Krishna Kumar Yadav said that this journey which started from two Navodaya Vidyalayas on April 13, 1986 has reached 661 today. Despite being a government institution, Navodaya Vidyalaya is at the top today due to excellent education and better examination results. PMG said that inspired by the spirit of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' and 'Come for education, go for service', Navodaya has only the feeling of nationalism beyond caste, sect and region. The network of more than 16 lakh former students of Navodaya Vidyalaya across the country is ready to give a new direction to the society. From politics, administration, medicine, engineering, military services to various professional services, business and social services, newcomers are making a name for themselves not only in India but all over the world. Today Navodaya has become a brand.
In the program, stage poet Danbahadur Singh performed the shaman with his poems. At the same time, many former students including Soumya Srivastava, Parineeti Goswami, Rushpa, Srishti, Shivam won the hearts of people by presenting cultural programs. The selfie point set up to make the ceremony memorable also attracted everyone's attention, where Navodayans gathered with the spirit of 'Hamein Navodaya Ho', kept taking selfies and capturing the golden memories on their mobiles.
