Navjot Sidhu, along with three former Congress presidents, raised these serious questions on his own party, said – there should be a CBI investigation – News India Live

Chandigarh: Before the Lok Sabha elections 2024, three former state presidents of Congress have demanded a CBI inquiry into the post-matric scholarship scam that took place during their own party's rule and the death of 114 people due to the poisonous liquor scam in 2020.

Former state president Navjot Singh Sidhu, Shamsher Singh Dulo and Mahender KP met Governor Banwari Lal Purohit on Friday and handed him a demand letter in this regard. Let us tell you that former Congress cabinet minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot was accused of post matric scholarship scam and he is currently in jail.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday had provisionally attached assets worth Rs 4.58 crore of Dharamsot and his sons. This action has been taken under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). After meeting the Governor, Dullo said that the state agency could not investigate the scam properly, hence he demanded a CBI inquiry from the Governor.

He alleged that the Channi government has forgiven all the institutions that had embezzled post-matric scholarship money except him, from whom this money was to be recovered and FIRs were to be registered against them. They surrounded the Aadmi Party government. The AAP government has given a loan of Rs 91,000 crore in just two years.
