Such a flood situation has arisen in eastern Zhejiang, Hubei, Henan and the outskirts of the capital Beijing that the government had to issue a red alert and evacuate more than 1 million people to safe places. Subways, railways and more than 1,300 flights were canceled in global business hubs such as Shanghai and Hangzhou. Rivers are flowing several meters above the danger mark, leaving industrial areas and huge residential areas submerged in several feet of water.

Flash floods have caused huge devastation in the eastern states and coastal areas of America, the world’s largest economy.
