In China, Asia’s largest country, the powerful sea storm ‘Dolphin’ and continuous rains have broken the records of decades. Such a flood situation has arisen in eastern Zhejiang, Hubei, Henan and the outskirts of the capital Beijing that the government had to issue a red alert and evacuate more than 1 million people to safe places. Subways, railways and more than 1,300 flights were canceled in global business hubs such as Shanghai and Hangzhou. Rivers are flowing several meters above the danger mark, leaving industrial areas and huge residential areas submerged in several feet of water.
‘Deluge’ rained from the sky in America and Japan
Flash floods have caused huge devastation in the eastern states and coastal areas of America, the world’s largest economy. Due to heavy rainfall, highways turned into rivers and dozens of underpasses were filled to the brim with water, leaving hundreds of vehicles submerged. At the same time, torrential rains like cloud burst have caused huge devastation in Tokyo and Chiba province of Japan. Chiba received record-breaking rainfall of more than 11.5 centimeters in just one hour, leaving railway tracks and the international airport under water and thousands of people stranded at stations.
