The National Meteorological Center of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) issued weather warnings for large parts of the country including Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah on Tuesday morning. Dubai Police has also issued an advisory to avoid some roads in the city due to flash flooding. Meanwhile, other countries in the region also experienced heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding. At least 18 people have died in floods caused by heavy rains in neighboring Oman.

According to reports, the victims include 10 students who died on April 14 when the vehicle they were traveling in was swept away by the strong current while trying to cross a flooded area. Meanwhile, in Bahrain, videos on social media showed vehicles stranded on flooded roads.
