Lucknow, 19 November (HS). National School Sports Competition (Under-17) Athletics competition for boys and girls is starting from 26th November. This competition will run till 30th November at Guru Gobind Singh Sports College under the auspices of the Secondary Education Department. In this competition, about 3960 students, coaches and team managers from teams of a total of 45 units including all the states, union territories and some organizations and societies of the country will participate.

On Tuesday, Additional Chief Secretary Secondary Education, Finance and Home Deepak Kumar unveiled its logo, emblem and trophy. He told that in each unit there will be 42 boys and 42 girls along with two coaches and managers. Along with this, 20 experts nominated by the Athletics Federation of India and other experts providing services in the field of athletics in the state will also be included.

He said that last year its age group was kept under-14, which has been increased to 17 this year. Under-17 school games athletics competition is being organized for the first time in Lucknow. A total of 19 events will be organized in the boys and girls category in the competition. This includes 100 m, 200 m, 400 m, 800 m, 1500 m and 3000 m races, 110 m, 400 m hurdles, long jump, high jump, triple jump, pole vault, discus throw, hammer throw, javelin throw, shot put. , 5000 meter walk and Includes 4×100 m relay race, 4×400 m relay race.

Deepak Kumar said that for the smooth and uninterrupted conduct of the National Athletics Competition, a control room has been established under the supervision of senior officials, which will remain active 24 hours. In order to ensure timely and safe arrival and departure of the participating teams coming from different parts of the country along with all other necessary facilities, a total of 45 liaison officers have been appointed separately for each unit, who will be responsible for their arrival. Will remain active till reaching the safe destination.
