NASA : India and the US will take several steps to increase cooperation in the space sector. NASA Administrator Bill Nelson said that the US space agency will also train an astronaut from ISRO to live in the International Space Station. India and the US will move forward together to promote critical and advanced technology (iCET). He said, last year we went to India. India and the US are ready to work together for the betterment of humanity.
He said, 'We will work together in the space sector and an ISRO astronaut will be trained to go to the ISS and stay there and come back.' This will help in advancing space science in the future. He said these things on the social media platform X. Nelson said this after a meeting between India's security advisor Ajit Doval and his counterpart Jail Sullivan. Sullivan said on Monday that ISRO astronauts will be given advanced training.
Bill Nelson said that NASA will have a joint mission with an Indian astronaut at the International Space Station. The two NSAs discussed space flight cooperation and development of strategic infrastructure. This will be the first joint effort of NASA and ISRO astronauts. An Indian astronaut is likely to fly to the ISS later this year. ISRO is likely to select four astronauts for training.
In collaboration with NASA and ISRO, NASA ISRO is going to launch Synthetic Aperture Radar i.e. NISAR. This mission can contribute to the solution of climate change. It will map the Earth twice every 12 days. This announcement was made after a conversation between Jack Sullivan and NSS Ajit Doval. This satellite has been jointly developed by NASA and ISRO.
