Washington: The US space agency National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will send a symbolic message in Hindi to the satellite of Europa, the largest planet in the solar system. This message in Hindi will be sent with NASA's Europa Clipper mission.
A symbolic message written in Hindi is engraved on a specially made 7 by 11 inch plate of a metal called tantalum. This metal plate has been installed on NASA's Europa Clipper mission. The Europa Clipper mission (spacecraft) will launch in October 2024 for the special exploration of the Europa satellite. The main objective of the Europa Clipper mission is to investigate the possibility of future life in the subsurface of Jupiter's large moon Europa.
NASA sources have informed that through the Europa Clipper mission, we will send a message by writing the word water in 103 languages of the world including Hindi. Such messages are collected from all over the world. On the basis of extensive research and study by the world's expert astronomers, it has been found that Europa is made of silicate rock. Along with these silicate rocks, ice is also abundant. There is also strong evidence of a vast ocean beneath the rocky surface of the ice. According to this evidence, the water level of this ocean under Europa is more than double the water level of all the oceans present on Earth. However, Europa's underground ocean is of salt water. There is no flowing and potable water on earth.
NASA sources have also said that the audio files of such messages have been converted into wave forms. These same wave forms would represent the word water in American Sign Language. One of the waves on that plate is the word water. Water is called Paani in Hindi.
The idea of sending such a message with the Europa Clipper mission came from a reference to the Golden Records sent with NASA's Voyager missions. The Voyager spacecraft has now gone beyond the boundaries of our solar system.
Lori Glaze, Director of NASA's Planetary Science Division, has informed that along with the Europa Clipper mission, American poet Ada Lyman's poem about the Europa satellite: In Praise of Mystery: A Poem for Europa, will also be sent with such a message. In addition, the names of more than 2.6 million citizens from around the world have been included in the silicon microchip.
*Features and characteristics of Jupiter's satellite Europa:
*Jupiter is the largest and most massive planet in our solar system. The surprising thing is that Jupiter has a total of 95 satellites. Of these, four major and prominent satellites are Ganymede, Callisto, Io, Europa.
* Europa is the smallest of the four main and largest moons of Jupiter.
* Europa was discovered on January 8, 1610 by the great Italian astronomers Galileo Galilei and Simon Marius. It is slightly smaller in size than Earth's Moon.
* Europa's underground ocean is of salt water.
*The atmosphere of Europe is very thin. However, its atmospheric components also contain some oxygen.
* There are some meteorites even in the very smooth rocky area of Europa.
