NASA discovered water on Mars: NASA has achieved a major success on Mars. NASA has discovered a huge amount of water on the surface of Mars. This reservoir of water is so huge that it can fill an ocean. In fact, there are cracks in the ground several kilometers below the surface of the planet which contain a large amount of liquid water. NASA has provided information about water from the data of its Insight lander.

There is also a possibility of the presence of microorganisms in water

According to a study by planetary scientist Washington Wright and his team at the University of California, a large amount of water is present 11.5 to 20 km below the surface of Mars. In which there is a possibility of the presence of microorganisms. Wasan said that the atmosphere of the upper layer of Mars is such that liquid water can accumulate in it. Water turns into ice when going deeper. This study of Wasan and his team has also been published recently in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The team of scientists said that they have found microorganisms at such depths on Earth as well.

Unlock the InSight lander's potential to measure seismic waves

NASA's InSight lander landed on the surface of Mars in 2018. So that studies can be done inside it. The lander has mapped the layers inside Mars with its ability to measure seismic waves. According to NASA, the study of this lander data has revealed that a very large amount of water is stored under Mars.

How was water reported?

When the lander waves pass through rocks, their direction is different and when they pass through water, their direction is different. It is by studying these waves that NASA scientists came to know about the location and depth of water. Similarly, huge sources of water, oil and gas have been discovered on Earth as well. There is a huge amount of water present on Mars from 11.5 km to 20 km. Which has happened there after the lava cooled down. And if this water is brought to the surface, then the entire planet can be filled with water equivalent to an ocean up to a depth of 1 to 2 km.
