Four major agreements were signed after bilateral talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Singapore PM Lawrence Wong, following a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal posted on social media platform One after the meeting. It wrote, “A new chapter in relations: The relationship elevates to a comprehensive strategic partnership”.

The two leaders signed agreements and MoUs for assistance in semiconductors, digital technology, skill development and healthcare services. They appreciated the work done by senior ministers of both sides towards brainstorming and identifying new agenda for bilateral cooperation. During the roundtable, the conference called for accelerated action in the areas of cooperation, connectivity, digitalization, health and medical services, skill development and sustainability.
Trade and investment flows will increase
Emphasising on the strong growth in economic ties, the two leaders called for increasing trade and investment flows between the two countries, a statement said. “The PM highlighted that Singapore is a key economic partner of India with investments worth around US$160 billion in the Indian economy,” it said. He further noted that the rapid and sustained growth in India has opened up immense investment opportunities for Singaporean institutions.
India's first center will open in Singapore
The leaders of both the countries emphasized that a new chapter has opened in bilateral relations in the field of semiconductors and new technologies. They talked about taking the relations of both the countries towards the future. Their discussion was on the celebration of the 60th anniversary of bilateral relations in the year 2025. PM Modi said that India's first Tiruvalluvar Cultural Center will be opened in Singapore
