Chittorgarh, March 15 (Hindustan Reporter) The Preventive and Information Cell of Central Narcotics Bureau, Chittorgarh has taken two major actions against drug smugglers. In one operation, more than 2 kg of opium was seized and in the other, 12 kg of opium was seized. The estimated value of opium is said to be more than Rs 25 lakh. Both the arrested accused are being interrogated.
Narcotics Information Cell Superintendent C Prasad of Chittorgarh said that the Narcotics team is continuously taking action. In this, the team had received information from the informer that a young man was standing under the Bansen culvert, who had opium and was going to supply it outside. Based on this information, the narcotics team reached Bansen Pulia. A young man was standing under the culvert, waiting for the vehicle. After searching it, 2 kg 50 grams of opium was seized from its possession. Narcotics arrested Vinod son of Prem Das Vaishnav, resident of Bagund. Narcotics presented the accused in the court, from where orders have been given to hand him over on remand till Saturday. The accused is not giving any further information at present. Investigation revealed that there was no opium license in its name. He had brought this opium from someone and was about to send it out. Superintendent C Prasad said that the team also raided Pal village under Bassi police station area. Opium was caught from a car parked outside a house here. Dinesh son of Mangilal Jat, resident of Pal, who was found near the car, has been arrested. Narcotics was informed that opium was going to be supplied in a car from the village. On this the team reached Pal village. The team caught 12 kg of opium hidden in the car after planning a scheme. Four packets weighing 2.5 kg and one packet weighing 2 kg were found in plastic bags in the car. Investigation revealed that there is no opium license in the name of Dinesh Jat.
