Namo Bharat train is providing comfortable travel experience to the passengers in the scorching heat

Ghaziabad, 08 May (HS). Namo Bharat train is providing comfortable travel experience to the passengers in the scorching heat. The state-of-the-art air conditioning system in trains is helping in protecting the passengers from the scorching heat. With significantly enhanced cooling capacity, the system is capable of ensuring a fresh and cool environment inside the NaMo Bharat train even amid scorching temperatures. With this, the number of passengers traveling in Namo Bharat trains so far has reached 10 lakh.

NCRTC spokesperson Puneet Vats said that to provide a comfortable experience to the passengers, the temperature of the coach of every train is kept around 25 degrees Celsius. However, it is also changed according to the season. The temperature inside the train can be changed as per requirement during summer, winter and monsoon etc. Cooling is needed most in the summer season. The AC system of Namo Bharat train has been designed keeping this in mind. Not only the youth, working people and elderly people are also giving preference to riding Namo Bharat in the hot weather. Initially, a 17 km section was inaugurated in October 2023 and thereafter an additional 17 km section was made operational from March 2024. At present a 34 kilometer section is operated for passengers.

Apart from this, to conserve air-conditioned air, the doors of Namo Bharat train run in passenger control mode, that is, the doors do not open themselves at every station, rather the passenger has to press the push button to open them. For the first time in the country, such a system is being used only in Namo Bharat train. The AC system benefits from this. Opening all the doors at every station would have consumed more energy, and the air-conditioned air inside the coach would also have gone out. Again, there would be more pressure on the AC system to cool the coach. In such a situation, this technology in Namo Bharat train saves energy and passengers also get benefit.

India's first semi-high-speed Namo Bharat train is currently operating on the 34 km section from Sahibabad to Modinagar North. This train is taking passengers to their destination every 15 minutes. The entire Delhi-Meerut corridor is targeted to be operational by June 2025, which also includes the Meerut Metro MRTS project running on the route from Meerut South to Modipuram Depot.
