Maharashtra Politics: The top three leaders of Mahayuti are going to have an important meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi this evening. Ahead of the meeting, sources have confirmed that Devendra Fadnavis is set to become the Chief Minister, while Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar may become the Deputy Chief Ministers of Maharashtra.

Before this meeting of Mahayuti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Union Minister and Maharashtra BJP co-in-charge Ashwini Vaishnav in Parliament today. According to sources, the formula for government formation will be decided in the Mahayuti meeting tonight.
Shinde’s eye on these ministries!

Eknath Shinde will hold the portfolio of Urban Development and MSRDC. Apart from this, Shinde will demand important departments like revenue, agriculture, health, rural development, industry and social justice. Apart from this, Shinde can also demand the post of a cabinet and a minister of state in the central government.

Senior Shiv Sena leaders believe that Eknath Shinde should be made a part of the cabinet with some key portfolios, which will be beneficial in strengthening the party in Maharashtra. Senior leaders of the party believe that due to the absence of Eknath Shinde in the government, the party MLAs may face difficulty in getting necessary participation and funds in the government.

Ajit Pawar wants this department

In this way, Ajit Pawar is also looking after the post of Deputy Chief Minister along with the Finance Ministry. BJP leadership wants to keep the finance and planning departments with itself. Ajit Pawar will insist on keeping ministries like Agriculture, Food and Civil Supplies, Women and Child Welfare, Medical Education, Sports, Rural Development, Cooperation and Marketing with him.

Meanwhile, BJP wants to retain ministries like Home Department, Housing and Urban Development, Finance, Irrigation, Power, PWD, Environment and Tourism, Parliamentary Affairs, Skill Development and General Administration (GAD).

Which formula will be adopted?

According to sources, the formula of six MLAs and one ministerial post will be considered to decide the participation of each alliance in the distribution of departments in the government. According to this, BJP may get an estimated 21 to 22 ministerial posts, Shiv Sena group may get 10 to 12 ministries and Ajit Pawar’s NCP may get 8 to 9 ministries. The total quota of ministerial posts in Maharashtra should not exceed 43 including the post of Chief Minister.
