Names of 5.14 lakh voters removed from the list in Hyderabad, Owaisi in tension! Election Commission gave the reason

The first phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024 is to be held tomorrow on 19 April. Meanwhile, names of more than 5.41 lakh voters have been removed from the voter list in Hyderabad. The reason for this was also given in a press release by the District Election Commission.

Due to this the names of voters were removed from the list.

Hyderabad district has 15 assembly constituencies and the commission has removed names of more than 5.41 lakh voters from the voter list ahead of the first phase of voting. According to the Election Commission, the reasons for deletion of names of voters from the list are death, change of residence and double registration of names. The District Election Officer said in a press release on Wednesday that the election system in Hyderabad district is working hard to ensure the accuracy of the voter list and all measures are being taken to ensure free and fair elections.

A total of 47,141 dead voters, 4,39,801 transferred voters and 54,259 duplicate voters have been removed from the lists in 15 assembly constituencies of Hyderabad district since January 2023. The release said that following the instructions of the Election Commission of India, names of a total of 5,41,201 voters have been removed from the list.

More than six lakh fake voters: Madhavi Lata's claim

The 15 assembly constituencies of Hyderabad district are part of the Hyderabad and Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituencies. BJP candidate from Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency K Madhavi Latha had earlier claimed that there were more than six lakh fake voters in the constituency. Madhavi alleged that Owaisi was winning the elections through fake votes.

Voting will take place on May 17

A total of 1,81,405 voters have been identified in Hyderabad district whose house numbers have been corrected. A total of 3,78,713 amendments were made in the district to bring voters divided into one family to one polling booth. It is noteworthy that voting will be held in Telangana in a single phase on May 17. There are 17 Lok Sabha seats in the state. Voting will be held in Hyderabad also on 17th May.

Big rivalry between Owaisi and Madhavi Lata

The main contest here is believed to be between Asaduddin Owaisi and Madhavi Lata of BJP. In the year 2019, Owaisi defeated the BJP candidate by 2 lakh 82 thousand 186 votes. Here BJP stood second. In the year 2014, Owaisi had won by 282186 votes.
