Amaravati/Bhubaneswar: TDP has regained power in Andhra Pradesh, TDP chief and supporter of NDA government at the center Chandrababu Naidu took oath as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Mohan Manjhi of BJP, who came to power for the first time in Odisha, also took oath as the Chief Minister. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present in the swearing-in ceremony of both the Chief Ministers. In Arunachal, Pema Khandu will take oath as the Chief Minister on Thursday.
TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu took oath as Chief Minister in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, while his fellow SNS president and former actor Pawan Kalyan and Naidu's son Nara Lokesh took oath as ministers. Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazir administered the oath of office to 24 MLAs, while Naidu took oath as Chief Minister. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Nitin Gadkari, J.P. Nadda, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Union Ministers were also present during the ceremony. After taking oath, Narendra Modi hugged Naidu. Both patted each other's back. Apart from this, Modi also hugged actors Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. Tamil actor Rajinikanth and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, who were present at the ceremony, also met Modi.
In the new Andhra government, Pawan Kalyan's party Janasena has got three ministerial posts and BJP has got one. In Andhra with 175 seats, TDP has got more ministerial posts because it got majority to form the government, a total of 26 people have got ministerial posts in Naidu's cabinet. At the same time, BJP, which has come to power for the first time in Odisha, has made Mohan Charan Manjhi the Chief Minister. Manjhi took oath as the Chief Minister in the presence of Modi. During this, Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states Gujarat, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh etc. were also present. KV Singh Dev and Pravati Parida took oath as Deputy Chief Ministers. In the BJP government of Odisha, out of 16 cabinet rank holders including Manjhi, four tribals, two Dalits and one woman have got ministerial posts.
On Thursday, the current Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu was elected the leader of the BJP Legislative Assembly. He will meet Governor KT Parnelak and stake claim to form the government. Pema Khandu's swearing-in ceremony is going to be held on Thursday. However, since Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to attend the G-7 summit in Italy, it is likely that he will not attend the ceremony. Meanwhile, Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nadda and Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states may attend Pema Khandu's swearing-in ceremony.
