Jagdalpur, 1 November (HS). More than two million tonnes of hot metal is being produced in the steel plant located at Nagarnar in Bastar district. Here a new record of maximum production of 7268 tonnes in a day has been made. It is noteworthy that the volume of the blast furnace located here is 4506 cubic meters which has the capacity to produce 9 thousand tons of hot metal daily. NMDC CMD Amitabh Mukherjee says that now Nagarnar Steel Plant is gradually achieving its target. He said that NSL will soon strengthen its position in the hot rolled industry.
While the ED of NSL. Praveen Kumar said that seven thousand tonnes of hot metal is being produced daily in the plant. It took approximately 226 days to produce the first one million tonne of hot metal, while the second one million tonne took 204 days. NSL had created history by producing one million tonnes of hot metal in the shortest time. He said that apart from hot metal, the production of HR coil is also gradually increasing.
