Araria 25 July (HS). On the call of Bihar Local Bodies Employees Foundation, Forbesganj Nagar Parishad Employees Union on Thursday demonstrated in front of the main gate of the Nagar Parishad's administrative building in support of the five-point demands pending since 2018. Under the leadership of Bihar Local Bodies Employees Foundation's state organization minister Suraj Kumar Sonu, sanitation workers and employees demonstrated and raised slogans in support of their demands.
Foundation's state organization minister Suraj Kumar Sonu, who is leading the demonstration, said that this demonstration is taking place in municipal bodies across the state today. Since 2018, the state government has kept the five-point demands pending. Despite repeated assurances, no initiative is being taken to implement those demands, due to which this demonstration is taking place and if the government does not implement the demands by August 8, then the sanitation workers and employees of the municipal bodies across the state will surround the assembly on August 8.
He said that the main demands are to make the services of municipal employees employed on daily wages and contract permanent, to end the services of NGOs, to provide all facilities to municipal employees like state employees, to end the government letter no. 2503 dated 3 May 2018.
Dozens of protesters including Shankar Marik, Sanjay Marik, Govind Marik, Mithilesh Marik, Ranjit Marik of Municipal Council Employees Union were present in the demonstration.
