NADA suspends 400 meter runner Dipanshi after she failed dope test

The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) has suspended India's top woman 400m runner Dipanshi, who won a silver medal at the National Intercontinental Championships, for failing a dope test. On Friday, Dipanshi finished second behind Kiran Pahal (50.92 seconds) in the women's 400m final in Panchkula with a timing of 52.01 seconds.

Let us tell you that 'anabolic steroids' were found in the dope samples taken during the tournament. These samples were taken on 27 June (after the heat race or semi-final). This is the first dope positive case that has come to light in the National Inter-State Championship (27 to 30 June), which was also the last qualifying tournament for the Paris Olympics. Deepanshi does not train in the national camp.
