A Red Corner Notice was issued against Romi in 2017. After this, Hong Kong Police arrested him in 2018 and sent him to jail. Recently on 6 August 2024, the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong issued orders for Ramanjit's surrender. According to Punjab Police, they were trying to extradite Ramanjit Singh alias Romi since 2018 and Punjab Police had also gone to Hong Kong. Now it has been successful.
