Hyderabad, 28 October (Hindustan Reporter). Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 11 has seen some very impressive performances that fit the theme. One of the standout performers in the early part of the season has been Patna Pirates' young raider Devank Dalal, who has forced everyone to take notice of his talent.

Young Devank, who hails from Rohtak, Haryana, made the Hyderabad crowd chant his name as he single-handedly led Patna Pirates to an improbable win against Tamil Thalaivas. It was Patna Pirates' first win of the season, and Devank scored 25 points as they came from behind to pull out a win that actually came from the jaws of defeat.

Devank said, “It was all about the team and I was thinking that someone should come forward on the mat for Patna Pirates. That day, against Tamil Thalaivas, it was my day and the next day, some other player would do well. But, it is important for us to play together and that is how we can win the game.”

For Devank, the only focus is to ensure that Patna Pirates do well in PKL Season 11. He said, “My teammate, captain Shubham Shinde, kept giving me the confidence to go ahead and score points. I have received a lot of support from the team management at Patna Pirates and I want to take advantage of every opportunity.”

However, when the topic of his personal goals and ambitions came up, the determined Devank explained, “When I was at Jaipur Pink Panthers in the ninth season, I had a star on my shirt, and then we won the title that year. Next year (season 10) we played with two stars on the shirt, and now at Patna Pirates, this year I have three stars on the shirt. But when we play Season 12, I want to have four stars on my kit. I definitely want Patna Pirates to win their fourth title.”

22-year-old Devank, who started his journey in Kabaddi after joining the Indian Army, is the first one from his family to take up the game, with his two younger siblings also following his footsteps.

Devank said, “My family keeps telling me to keep working hard, and nothing is impossible in this life if you try. My family and friends are happy too, and if they are happy then that's all I need. I want to do my best to ensure that my family has a good future. They have seen a lot of tough times, and now it's my time to give something back to them and help them live a happy life. They've done a lot for me, and I want to be able to do something nice for them.”
