Amyra Dastur: I have never been one of those people who get anything easily, if I get anything easily then I get shocked. This is what actress Amyra Dastur has to say. Who, after making her place in Bollywood, is trying her luck in various film industries of India.
In her ten-year film career, the actress has had the opportunity to work in South Indian cinema and international projects. Amyra Dastur’s father, who hails from South Mumbai and has a deep connection with the film background, is a doctor. The actress had to struggle a lot to make her place in showbiz.
Amyra says, I am surprised when I do not have to go through any audition to play a character. I know my position in the industry. I know I don’t have the connections that some people have. My father (who is from the medical field) was supporting me if I wanted to become a doctor, so I thought of making a career in a field where I did not know anyone. I have to develop my own relationships. In short, I got the job because of hard work and hence I value it more. About her future plans, Amyra says, I would love to play the lead role in a women-centric film. But I also feel that I still have to make my mark among the audience. Because I am at such a point in my career where I feel that I am not capable enough to bring the audience to the theater by working in a women-centric film. I still need to do two-three films to reach the level where I can stand on my own.
