Dumka, 6 May (HS). In connection with the discovery of a human skeleton in Barmasa village of Taljhari police station area on April 30, Dumka police has arrested a criminal and sent him to jail on Monday. The arrested criminal is Pinku Kumar Mandal alias Chhotu, resident of Barmasa village of the police station area.
The matter was investigated by SP Pintabar Singh Kherwar in the Collectorate office. He told that on April 30, a male skeleton was found in Baramasa village of the police station area. After which the police started investigating rapidly. Earlier, on April 27, the father of the minor resident of the police station area had applied for kidnapping of the daughter. The police had registered a case of kidnapping and were investigating. Meanwhile, after finding a male skeleton, the police intensified their investigation.
A SIT team was formed under the leadership of SDPO, Jarmundi Santosh Kumar in the case. On the basis of suspicion in the case, the team was successful in arresting Pinku Kumar Mandal alias Chhotu, resident of Barmasa village of the police station area. The arrested criminal broke down during police interrogation and confessed to his crime.
In his confession statement, the arrested criminal admitted that he had taken the minor hostage for refusing to marry her, raped her forcefully for two days, killed her by pressing her nose and mouth, poured acid on the body and burnt it to destroy the evidence. The police was successful in recovering the items used in the incident at the behest of the arrested criminal.
