Mumbai: 17 lakh government employees of Maharashtra will go on an indefinite strike from August 29 over their various demands. People may have to face trouble due to this strike of state government employees.
The decision to go on indefinite strike was taken in the meeting of the action committee of the State Government Employees Union held today. Ganeshotsav is coming next month, so the Shinde government will have to try to stop the government employees from going on strike.
The strike has been announced to demand payment of new pension as per the old pension. Regarding the decision taken in the meeting held in Mumbai, Vishwas Katkar of the committee said that they have appealed to the government to immediately issue a notification to the state government regarding pension.
If the government does not issue the notification, we will go on strike from the 29th. Earlier the state government had given assurances regarding pension, but did not follow them. That is why we have insisted on issuing the notification.
Meanwhile, as the Maharashtra assembly elections are drawing nearer, government employee organisations are ready to put the government in trouble.
