Mumbai Alert: Security was tightened in Mumbai, the country's financial capital Maharashtra, late night on Friday (September 27, 2024) after central agencies alerted the city police about possible terrorist threats. Sources told ABP News that after the latest alert, vigilance has been increased at religious places and other crowded places in the city.
Mumbai Police said, “We have been instructed to conduct 'mock drills' in crowded places and religious places. “All the DCPs of the city have been asked to pay special attention to the security arrangements in their respective zones.” Meanwhile, an officer said that on Friday the police conducted a mock drill in Crawford Market area. It is a very crowded area and also has two major religious places.
Security tightened outside all temples in Mumbai!
Regarding the security exercise, the police officially said that it was a security exercise but why is it suddenly being done like this? This was not stated clearly. “Mock drills are being conducted at Crawford Market and other places in Mumbai in view of the upcoming festivals and elections,” police said. Sources also said that all temples in the city have been instructed to remain alert and report any suspicious activity as a precautionary measure.

The election schedule of the state with a total of 288 assembly seats is yet to be announced, but it is likely to be announced soon.
