MP: Uncontrollable truck crushes wedding procession in Raisen, five killed, 11 injured

Raisen, March 11 (HS). A major accident took place in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday night. In village Khamaria of Sultanpur police station area on Bhopal-Jabalpur road, a speeding truck went out of control and entered the wedding procession and ran over the wedding processionists. At least five people died in this accident, while 11 were injured. The condition of four of these people is said to be critical.

According to the information, a procession was taking place on the road in Village Ghat Khamaria of Sultanpur police station area at around 9 pm on Monday night. Meanwhile, a truck went out of control due to high speed and entered the procession. Five wedding guests died after being hit by a truck, while 11 others were injured. After the accident the truck driver fled from the spot. As soon as information about the accident was received, District Collector Arvind Kumar Dubey and SP Vikas Kumar Sehwal reached the spot and took information about the matter.

SP Vikas Kumar Sehwal said that according to initial information, five people have died. Probably the brakes of the truck had failed. 11 people were injured in the accident, out of which four people have been sent to Bhopal AIIMS in critical condition. Meanwhile, seven injured have been admitted to the district hospital of Raisen. At present the names of the deceased have not been revealed.
