Bhopal/Gwalior, 05 August (HS). Madhya Pradesh Police is continuously taking strict action towards controlling crime in the state. In this sequence, Gwalior Police has succeeded in arresting a cunning fraudster who used to dupe people by promising to get them transferred to various departments in the name of a Union Minister and his personal staff. The accused used to get himself photographed with influential people in religious attire and display them on his Facebook ID and used to dupe the common people and public servants. Two inspectors have been suspended for committing gross misconduct by getting recommendations for desired transfers by staying in touch with the accused.
Public Relations Officer Ashish Sharma said on Monday that Gwalior's Crime Branch received information that Pushpendra Dixit (Sharma) son of Pramod Sharma, a resident of village Udalpada of Dabra tehsil of Gwalior district and currently living in village Tekanpur, fakely identifies himself as the personal secretary of ministers of the Government of India and other public representatives. He also makes fake documents in the name of transfer of employees posted in the police department and other departments and sends messages for transfer through SIM cards taken in the name of others.
Pushpendra also sent messages to the state's Director General of Police and Special Director General of Police (Administration) posing as Union Minister Giriraj Singh's personal secretary Jai Kishan and using a SIM card obtained on the basis of forged documents to transfer inspector level officer Vinay Yadav from Shivpuri district to Bhind district and Pankaj Tyagi from Guna district to Gwalior district. Accused Pushpendra Dixit (Sharma), citing the name of the Union Minister and calling himself his personal secretary, also sought a follow-up on the transfer status of these two inspectors.
In order to collect evidence in the messages sent to the Director General of Police and Special Director General of Police (Administration), Police Headquarters, five mobile phones, Rs 1 lakh in cash, several Aadhar cards and letters and documents made for other departments were seized from Pushpendra Dixit (Sharma), which are being analyzed. A case has been registered against Pushpendra Dixit (Sharma) in various sections of BNS and IT Act in the Crime Branch Police Station of Gwalior and investigation has been taken up. Detailed interrogation of the accused is going on.
Action against police officials
For gross misconduct by staying in touch with criminal accused Pushpendra Dixit (Sharma) and getting recommendation for desired transfer, the present Station Incharge Inspector of Bairad in Shivpuri district, Vinay Yadav and the present Station Incharge Inspector of Jamner in Guna district, Pankaj Tyagi have been suspended and attached to the respective District Police Lines of Shivpuri and Guna.
Action has already been taken against the accused
Earlier in December 2016, the accused had sent a semi-official letter through the office of the then Union Minister of External Affairs and sent a forged letter to the Director General, Border Security Force Office, New Delhi for the transfer of BSF employees. When this letter was found to be forged, a case was registered under various sections of the Indian Penal Code at Lodhi Colony Police Station in South Delhi and after investigation, it was also presented in the competent court.
