Bhaepal, 30 November (Hindustan Reporter). On the occasion of the retirement of Director General of Police Sudhir Saxena, a farewell parade was organized at Motilal Nehru Police Stadium, Bhopal on Saturday. Before the parade, Director General of Police Saxena paid floral tributes at the Martyr Memorial.

The farewell parade was conducted by eight platoons and police band under the leadership of Parade Commander BHP Sonakshi Saxena, DCP Intelligence Bhopal and Parade IIIC Assistant Fighter Ravi Sharma.

The parade was inspected by Director General of Police Saxena followed by an attractive march past.

In his address on the occasion of retirement, Sudhir Saxena said that you have demonstrated a very grand parade today. For this I congratulate all of you very much. I also thank the ADG SAF and his entire team for your performance, as a result of whose tireless hard work and dedication we have all witnessed your high quality performance. He said that first of all I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the martyrs of Madhya Pradesh Police. I remember him from the depths of my heart. The glorious building of Madhya Pradesh Police has been built on the foundation of self-sacrifice of these martyrs. I offer my humble greetings to the sacrifice of all the martyrs and their great families.

Madhya Pradesh Police has a very glorious history. At the time of independence, in combating tribal attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, in Operation Polo in Hyderabad, in the linguistic movement in the South, in the freedom struggle of Goa, in Nagaland and Tripura in the North East, in terrorism in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh was involved everywhere. Brave police personnel and officers have made an important contribution to the internal security of the country.

Conducting the Legislative Assembly elections, Lok Sabha elections, Panchayat and urban body elections and many by-elections in a free, fair and peaceful manner was a huge challenge, which all of you faced very successfully. The efficiency with which you discharged this responsibility was appreciated everywhere including the Election Commission. The completion of elections without any incident in challenging areas like Gwalior Chambal was a very important achievement.

In the last few years, Madhya Pradesh Police has achieved unprecedented successes against Naxalism. The number of Naxalites killed in police encounters in the last two and a half years is more than the total number of Naxalites killed in the last 25 years. There was a reward of more than Rs 3 crore on him. For the first time, Divisional Committee level Naxalites were defeated by Madhya Pradesh Police and for the first time weapons like AK-47 were recovered. Many rewarded Naxalites were also arrested.

Madhya Pradesh ATS took very effective action against anti-national and terrorist elements. The demolition of JMB module in Bhopal in March 2022 was a notable risky action which was praised at the national level. On the basis of the action taken by Madhya Pradesh Police, action was also taken in various states across the country. Apart from this, demolishing the HUT module and taking effective action against PFI were also indicative of the working efficiency of Madhya Pradesh ATS.

Under the inspiring leadership of the Prime Minister, three new laws based on justice rather than punishment were implemented this year. Madhya Pradesh Police was the leader in implementing these laws. About 80 thousand people were successfully trained and today the entire Madhya Pradesh Police is using these laws successfully without any problem.

Prevention of crimes against women and conviction of criminals were kept among the top priorities of Madhya Pradesh Police. We have been successful in providing a safe, fear-free environment to women and weaker sections of citizens. Keeping women and girls at the center point, we ran various programs and operations towards their safety. These include self-defense training to girl students under ‘Operation Swayam Siddha’, necessary awareness to boys and girls regarding ‘Good Touch Bed Touch’ under ‘Operation Ehsaas’, search of missing boys and girls and their parents under ‘Operation Muskaan’. Under “Operation Helping Hand”, effective implementation of court order to provide necessary funds for survival to abandoned women, awareness campaign against human trafficking. And “Hum Honge Kamyab Abhiyan” has been notable for sensitizing children.

In the end, Director General of Police Saxena said that I congratulate Madhya Pradesh Police on the appointment of Kailash Makwana as Director General of Police, Madhya Pradesh. I hope that he will also continue to receive the love and support that you all have given me. He is a very honest, dutiful and commercially efficient officer. I have full confidence that under his leadership, Madhya Pradesh Police will touch new heights and move forward with new direction and vision, filled with high morale. I wish him all the very best. After the farewell parade, DGP Sudhir Saxena reached the police headquarters where he handed over the baton to the newly appointed DGP Kailash Makwana while congratulating and best wishes.
