Bhopal, August 13 (HS). The 77th anniversary of Indian independence will be celebrated with joy and pomp. The main celebration of Independence Day in the state capital Bhopal will be held at Lal Parade Ground on August 15 under the chief patronage of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. On Tuesday, the full dress parade and final rehearsal of the Independence Day celebrations took place at Lal Parade Ground in the presence of Director General of Police Sudhir Saxena.
DGP and other officials took stock of the arrangements
Director General of Police Sudhir Saxena, Additional Director General of Police Sajid Farid Shapoo, Police Commissioner Bhopal Harinarayanchari Mishra, Deputy Commissioner Kiran Gupta and Municipal Corporation Commissioner Harendra Narayan along with other officials reviewed the arrangements for the Independence Day celebrations. During the final rehearsal of the full dress parade, Assistant Sub Inspector of 7th Battalion Heera Lal Yadav played the role of the chief guest symbolically and after the flag hoisting, national anthem and salute by the parade, inspected the parade and read out the message. After that the program concluded by dissolving the parade.
A total of 17 contingents including the police band participated in the practice parade
The final practice parade was led by Assistant Police Commissioner Bhopal Mayur Khandelwal of Indian Police Service. Assistant Commander Hawkforce Balaghat Sonu Kurmi played the role of Assistant Parade Commander. A total of 17 contingents including police bands participated in the joint practice parade. These include Uttar Pradesh Police Force, Special Armed Forces (Northern Zone), Special Armed Forces of Women, Joint Contingent of District Force and Railways, Special Armed Forces (Southern Zone), Hawkforce, STF, District Police Force, Jail Department (Women), Government Railway Police, City Army (Home Guard), N.C.C. Senior Division/Air Wing/Naval Wing (Boys Joint Contingent), N.C.C. Senior Wing/Air Wing/Naval Wing (Girls Joint Contingent), Guide Girls, Scouts Boys, Shaurya Dal, Police Band and Equestrian Contingent.
Practice of receiving medal decoration from the Chief Guest
After the symbolic reading of the message, the 69 officers and employees who received the President's medal also practiced receiving the medal decoration from the chief guest. In the end, the parade commander and platoon commanders of all the contingents participating in the parade also practiced introducing themselves to the chief guest. During the practice, the traffic, parking and all other arrangements of the stadium including the movement of citizens and security arrangements were also thoroughly examined. On this occasion, senior officials of the Police Headquarters, District Administration and Bhopal Police were present.
