Ranchi, 21 October (HS). Chief Electoral Officer K. Ravi Kumar has said that the sweep work should be expedited to motivate the voters to vote in the assembly elections 2024. He said that they should work to spread awareness among the voters by using all means of public relations like posters, banners, print media, electronic media, social media, street plays, campaign vehicles etc. He was addressing the meeting held with all the members of the sweep committee at Nirvachan Sadan on Monday.
Kumar said that the volunteers engaged in voting work should be selected by the School Education Department and should also complete their training with the material prepared for their training by the headquarters. He said that it should be ensured to provide timely certificates and ID cards to the school children working as volunteers.
He said that by providing assured minimum facilities in the polling stations, it should also be publicized so that no misconception about the polling station arises among the common people.
On this occasion, Additional Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Neha Arora, Secretary of Welfare Department Kripanand Jha, State Project Director of Education Department Shashi Ranjan, Special Secretary of Women and Child Development Department Abhay Nandan Ambasht, Special Secretary of Information and Public Relations Department Rajiv Lochan Bakshi. Representatives of Director Art and Culture, PIB, Press Club, Doordarshan, Akashvani, Nehru Kala Kendra and senior officials associated with the sweep of the Chief Electoral Office were present.
