Motihari police revealed 14 robbery cases including Spandana Sphoorti Bank

East Champaran, 04 August (HS). Police has solved the case of loot of Rs 8 lakhs in Spandana Spurti Bank located in Harsiddhi of the district. Police has arrested two people including a bank employee involved in the loot. Rs 1 lakh 5 thousand looted money, two bikes used in different loots, a country-made pistol and a cartridge have been recovered from them.

In this regard, SP Kantesh Mishra told journalists on Sunday that during interrogation of the arrested criminals, a total of 14 cases of robbery in other finance companies including Spandana have been solved. This gang carried out a total of four robbery incidents in Sugauli, Chiraiya and Harsiddhi of East Champaran. Along with this, these people have carried out 5-5 robbery incidents in Bettiah and Bagaha. He told that on July 10, armed criminals carried out a robbery in a private bank in Harsiddhi police station area. After which SIT was formed under the leadership of Areraj DSP Ranjan Kumar to reveal the case. During this, technical investigation revealed the involvement of bank field officer Appu Yadav in this robbery. After which he was interrogated intensively, it was found that he was involved in the robbery conspiracy, and Avnish Raj and other criminals carried out the robbery only after he informed about the availability of cash.

He told that Appu himself stayed in the bank on the night of the incident. Appu was in the bank when the robbery took place. On his information, the police raided and arrested the robber Avnish Raj from Bagaha. He has accepted his involvement in many cases. SP Shri Mishra told that one more bank employee is involved in all the robbery incidents, whose name is kept confidential and raids are being conducted against him.

He told that the master mind of the robber gang, Avnish Raj told during interrogation that before robbing the bank, he does its recce. Whereas he gets the information about the availability of cash in the bank from the bank employee Appu Yadav.

SP Kantesh Mishra said that the investigation of this case has revealed a gang that was roaming around and targeting finance companies and banks. All those involved in its investigation will be rewarded. Apart from DSP Ranjan Kumar, the raiding team included Inspector Krishna Kumar Gupta, SHO Nirbhay Kumar Rai, SI Ravi Ranjan, Anil Kumar, Anuj Pandey and DIO officials.
