Mother tried to sell 45 day old daughter for Rs 4 lakh

Mumbai: Police have arrested four accused, including a mother who tried to sell her 45-day-old daughter for Rs 4 lakh.

Acting on a tip-off, the police laid a trap near a hotel in Kalyan with the help of a fake customer.

The 45-day-old girl’s mother Rekha Sonawane (age 32) and three other accused Vaishali Sonawane (age 35), Deepali Hsing (age 27) and Kishore Sonawane (age 34) were arrested. He was going to sell the girl for Rs 4 lakh.

Police said that the accused mother Rekha is a beggar. She wanted to sell her daughter because she needed money.
