Hooghly, August 17 (HS). Amidst the protests in various parts of Bengal after the alleged rape and murder of a female doctor at RG Kar Medical College Hospital, worship of Maa Santoshi was done at Banbithi Park in Champdani on Friday evening to protect the women power of Bengal. A large number of devotees participated in this worship of Maa Santoshi organized under the aegis of Champdani Municipality Chairman Suresh Mishra and prayed for the protection of the women power of Bengal.
Mishra told that for the last 30 years Maa Santoshi is worshipped at his residence in Banbithi Park. Special care is taken of purity in this worship and every year Maa fulfills the wishes of him and the people of Champdani. This year, along with the people of Champdani, he has prayed to Maa to protect the women power in West Bengal. Along with the people of Champdani, he too believes that Maa Santoshi, the symbol of power, will definitely protect the women power in West Bengal. After worshipping Goddess Santoshi, a large number of devotees received prasad.
