Mosul breathed a sigh of relief after being freed after being in the clutches of ISIS for a decade

Mosul/Iraq: Nearly ten years ago, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militants took over Mosul and declared a caliphate at the Grand Al Nouri Mosque. Strict Islamic law was then imposed in Mosul, minorities living there were massacred, music was stopped and archaeological remains were destroyed, while artificially interpreting the tenets of Islam.

This city, located on the western bank of the Tigris River, has become synonymous with murders, kidnappings and torture in the last ten years. There is still no peace in Iraq after the attack on Iraq in 2003 and the terror of ISIS has turned the city and the surrounding area into ruins. Thousands of civilians have also died in liberating this city.

Now that the city is free from the hold of terrorists, reconstruction has started on both sides of the river. But even in this situation, corruption has prevailed there. So reconstruction is slow.
