More than 8 thousand people benefited in the health fair


Araria, 11 May (Hindustan Reporter). On the instructions of the Health Department, a health fair was organized at all the health centers of the district on Saturday. Special arrangements were made for medical examination and treatment in the health fair organized at Sadar Hospital, Sub-Divisional Hospital and all referral hospitals, PHCs, Health Wellness Centers and health sub-centres. In Sadar Hospital, through Medanta Hospital Patna, specialist doctors from neurologist, urologist, cardiologist and other related departments treated the patients.

During this period, a blood donation camp was organized in Forbesganj Sub-Divisional Hospital. Apart from this, arrangements for free testing, treatment and necessary medical consultation for various infectious and non-infectious serious diseases including cancer, hypertension, diabetes etc. were made during the fair in all the health institutions. Information about more than eight thousand people benefiting from the fair was given by the Health Department.

Expressing satisfaction over the successful organization of the health fair, Civil Surgeon Vidhanchandra Singh appreciated the efforts of all the health officers and workers for this. He said that with the help of Asha workers, hydrocele, hernia, cataract and other patients of the concerned area were identified. The identified patients were given proper treatment through surgery by specialist doctors in Sadar Hospital. He told that those identified patients whose treatment will not be possible during the camp. Necessary medical services will be provided to them on Sunday.

On the occasion, DPM Health Santosh Kumar said that the fair organized in the district is a special initiative to reactivate the health services affected due to the Lok Sabha elections. So that the process of restoring the confidence of common people towards government medical institutions can be strengthened.

Giving information, District Evaluation and Monitoring Officer Pankaj Kumar said that the actual achievement related to the fair will be known by late evening. According to the data available till 04 pm, he informed that the total number of people who will benefit from the fair is 07 thousand 134.

He said that 317 patients suffering from hernia, hydrocele, cataract and other diseases have been identified for necessary surgeries in the fair. During the fair, 478 potential cancer patients were screened. While screening 2072 BP and 1872 sugar patients, he informed about providing necessary medicines and medical consultation to them.
