Bangkok school bus tragedy: A major accident has occurred when a school bus carrying 44 people catches fire in Bangkok, Thailand. Due to which there is a possibility of death of 25 children. The death toll is expected to increase.
The bus was traveling from central Uthai Thani province to Ayutthaya on Tuesday when the front part of the bus caught fire while passing through Pathum Thani at around 2pm. The fire was so severe that rescue workers had to face difficulties in entering the bus.
Rescue of 16 people
According to media reports, three teachers and 16 children managed to escape at the time of the accident. However, he has suffered minor injuries. The driver also survived. But frightened by the incident, he ran away. Transport Minister Surya Jungrunrongkit said the bus was taking students from central Uthai Thani on a tour of Ayutthaya on Tuesday. Initial investigation revealed that the tire caught fire suddenly. The real reason has not been known yet.
Victim families will be compensated
The Prime Minister of Thailand expressed his condolences by writing a post on social media platform X. He said that arrangements have been made to provide immediate treatment and all expenses to the injured and compensation will also be given to the families of the deceased.
