Indians have broken all records in terms of getting US visas for the second consecutive year in 2024. For the second consecutive year, more than 10 lakh Indians have been given visas. Apart from this, the pilot project to renew H-1B visas of Indian professionals working in America has been completed.
The number of Indian students studying in America in 2024 has increased to more than 3,31,000. The US Embassy in India said that in 2024, for the second consecutive year, more than 1 million non-immigrant visas were granted. Which includes record breaking number of tourist visas. This figure shows that the craze to go to America from India is increasing. Indians especially want to go to America for tourism, business and education. People going to America for religious trips have also increased. Since America is more prosperous than other countries of the world, there is a queue of people going there.
7H-1B Visa Renewal Pilot Project Completed
The State Department has completed the H-1B visa renewal pilot project in the US this year. In which the visa of special category H-1B visa holders of India can be renewed only in America. Thousands of non-immigrant visas are issued by the US Mission in India. It is specifically aimed at reuniting families and enabling skilled workers to compete in America.
India is the country that sends the most students to America
For the first time since 2008-09, India has sent the highest number of students to study in the US in 2024. Thus it has become the country that sends the most students to America. This year the number of Indians studying in America is more than 3,31,000. The number of graduate students in India has increased by 19 percent. Which has reached about 2 lakh students.
More than 24,000 passports issued
More than 24,000 passports have been issued to US citizens residing in India and visiting India through the US Mission. The US has launched a new version of the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) in 2024. In which emergency alerts are sent to American citizens to contact them or send security alerts.
