Monsoon’s fury in Jharkhand: Red alert for heavy rain today in several districts, including Ranchi.


Due to unprecedented activity of monsoon in Jharkhand, the weather pattern has completely changed. Clouds have gathered in the entire state including Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad, Bokaro and Dumka. Ranchi Meteorological Center has issued a strict alert today, predicting heavy to extremely heavy rains in many districts of Jharkhand. According to meteorologists, due to the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal and the active monsoon trough, torrential rains will continue in the state for the next few days. During this period, there is a strong possibility of strong winds blowing at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour and lightning (thunderstorm).

Orange alert of heavy rain and thunderstorm in these districts including Ranchi

According to the latest report of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain with thunder in the areas of the capital Ranchi, Khunti, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Gumla, Lohardaga and Singhbhum today. The department has issued ‘Orange Alert’ for these areas and advised people not to come out of their homes without any reason. Along with this, moderate to heavy rainfall can also be recorded in Deoghar, Dumka, Godda and Sahibganj districts of Santal Pargana. Meteorologists have warned that incidents of lightning and falls may increase during rains, so people should avoid taking shelter under trees and electric poles.

Dust storm and strong winds will blow at a speed of 50KM

Along with rain, the weather pattern is going to be quite aggressive in many parts of Jharkhand today. Amidst the movement of dense dark clouds in the sky, strong gusty winds at a speed of 30 to 50 kilometers per hour have been predicted. Due to this strong wind, mud houses, tin roofs of rooms and weak trees can get damaged. Due to waterlogging in urban areas, there is a possibility of adverse impact on traffic. Ranchi Municipal Corporation and local administration have also instructed people living in low-lying areas with waterlogging to remain alert.

Clouds will rain every day till July 20, farmers’ faces will blossom

This monsoon rain is no less than a lifesaver for the farmers of Jharkhand. The faces of farmers who were waiting for good rains for a long time have brightened up and the work of planting paddy in the fields has started at a rapid pace. The Meteorological Department says that this activity of monsoon is not going to be limited to today only, but till July 20, there will be thunderstorms and good rains daily in almost all parts of the state. This long monsoon rain is expected to improve the ground water level and increase the water level of the reservoirs.
