Many areas of Delhi-NCR received rain this morning. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain for the next two days. The Meteorological Department has predicted that this week there may be heavy rain in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana Chandigarh-Delhi and Eastern Rajasthan. Heavy rain is expected in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Western Uttar Pradesh, Eastern Rajasthan during the next 24 hours.

Light to moderate rain is expected in Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Gujarat. Rain warning has been issued in Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Saurashtra and Kutch, Madhya Pradesh till August 27. Heavy rain is expected in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh today. Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha will receive heavy rain till August 24.
Orange alert for heavy rains in northeastern states
Heavy rain warning has been issued in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura during the next 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be sporadic rains in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Telangana, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, interior Karnataka during the week.
It will rain in Rajasthan till August 26
Monsoon is likely to remain active in the eastern parts of Rajasthan for the next one week. Moderate to heavy rains are likely at sporadic places along with thunderstorms in some parts of Bharatpur, Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota, Udaipur divisions. Heavy rains are likely at some places in the districts of Kota, Udaipur and Jaipur divisions in the next five-six days.
Light to moderate rain with thundershowers is expected in some parts of Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions of western Rajasthan for the next two-three days. He said that moderate to heavy rain is expected in some parts of Jodhpur division from 24 to 26 August. It has been raining in the state for the last several days.
