Jaunpur, 31 August (HS). The examination is going on on Saturday, the last day of the five-day constable recruitment examination. The examinations are being conducted under strict supervision at 34 centers in the district. A total of 56,736 candidates will appear in the examination to be held in both the shifts today. After the arrest of two accused on the first day of the second phase examination on 30 August while trying to break the sanctity of the examination, more stringent arrangements have been made to maintain a copy-free examination.
In the examination held on Friday in the district, a total of five students were arrested for cheating. Keeping this in mind, on the last day today, 24 candidates are being monitored by one CCTV camera at each examination center. The examination will be held from 10 am to 12 noon in the first shift on both days and from 3 pm to 5 pm in the second shift. 28,368 candidates will appear in the examination every day and 14184 candidates in each shift. The CCTV cameras installed at the examination centers have been connected to the control room built in the police line. From there, police officers from three levels are monitoring the activities of each candidate every moment. Any mistake at any level will cost not only the examinees but also the center administrator and the room inspectors. Apart from the center administrator, no one will be able to keep a mobile or other electronic gadget with them. Candidates will have to reach their examination center half an hour before. Regarding maintaining the purity of the examination, all the responsible police officers were given necessary guidelines in several rounds of meetings on Thursday.
In order to ensure that the examination is conducted in a safe, transparent and cheating-free manner, Superintendent of Police Dr. Ajay Pal Sharma on Saturday inspected the strong room at the District Collectorate and the Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University Examination Center under the Sarai Khwaja Police Station area and took stock of the security arrangements.
Superintendent of Police Dr. Ajay Pal Sharma said that six Deputy Superintendents of Police, 24 Inspectors, 155 Sub-Inspectors, 436 male and 126 female Head Constables and Constables have been deployed to maintain peace and security at the examination centres. Police force has been arranged at each examination centre as per the guidelines received from the Police Recruitment Board. Apart from this, police personnel have also been deployed at all railway stations, bus stations, major crossings and intersections of the district in view of the movement of the candidates and their parents.
