PM Modi Russia visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Kazan, Russia on Tuesday to participate in the BRICS meeting. PM Modi was given a grand welcome upon reaching Kazan. He was welcomed with Krishna bhajan. Earlier, PM Modi said India values close cooperation within BRICS which has emerged as an important platform for dialogue and discussion on various issues related to the global development agenda.
Point to be noted is that Brazil Russia, India, China and South Africa are the major members of BRICS and the grouping represents a quarter of the world economy.
During his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “I am deeply grateful for your friendship, warm welcome and hospitality. It is a great pleasure for me to come to the BRICS summit, a beautiful city like Kazan.” “It is heartening that India has deep and historical ties with this city and the opening of the new Indian Embassy in Kazan will further strengthen these ties.
In a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, “I remember we met in July and had a very good discussion on many issues. We also spoke on telephone several times. I am very grateful for the invitation.” Today in Kazan we will attend the opening ceremony of the BRICS Summit and then have dinner.
